Meet Dr. Mark Charrette

Understanding How the Body Works

Chiropractor Flower Mound, Dr. Mark CharretteDr. Charrette was born and raised in Michigan. He attended college in Illinois on a swimming scholarship. Though he’d long thought that becoming a medical doctor would be his chosen path, a back problem led him to the chiropractor’s office and changed his mind.

The chiropractor, who happened to be blind, took Dr. Charrette under his wing. He taught about how the body works, and it was then that Dr. Charrette decided to join the natural healing profession. He enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic.

While in chiropractic college, Dr. Charrette began working for Dr. Monte Greenwald, the inventor of Foot Levelers orthotics. What he learned there has stayed with him through the years. Each of Dr. Charrette’s patients have their feet analyzed because he knows how vital a stable base is to full-body health.

A Devastating Diagnosis

After his graduation, Dr. Charrette opened a successful practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. Not long after, he received life-shattering news: he had cancer and wasn’t expected to see the age of 40.

Dr. Charrette was undeterred by the grim prognosis and began making changes to his lifestyle, grinding up broccoli and asparagus for healthy drinks years before it was commonplace. The result of his dedication? He got well and proved all his doctors wrong. After that, he opened up a practice in Las Vegas.

Developing His Own Adjusting Protocol

In the 1990s, Dr. Charrette spent a great deal of time in Europe. While there, he had the opportunity to observe motion X-rays being taken. It showed him the patterns in the extremities and spine that were present. From this information, he developed The Charrette Approach Protocols.

For nearly 30 years, he has been teaching it to his fellow chiropractors. He’s run over 1900 seminars throughout the world. His patients include professional athletes, celebrities and well-known figures.

A Family-Oriented Life

Dr. Charrette loves being with his family, which includes his wife Phyllis, two stepdaughters and two poodle rescue dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys riding bikes, swimming, cooking out and reading. His favorite genre is books that talk about what makes people tick. With a passion for teaching, he educates students from four area colleges. He believes that there is always a way to better yourself and strives to grow and learn as a person and educator.
